From Canterbury NSW. Rees was enlisted in the RAAF Aircrew at Sydney 27 May 1943. Posted to Mildura for operational training, his Kittyhawk A29-120 was on a routine flight 7 miles SW of the aerodrome 19 June 1944 when for no accountable reason it suddenly dived into the ground and burst into flames. He was aged 21.
