Joe Crowe (417811)Pilot Officer

    Crowe was born in Alberton, SA on the 22nd of March 1923. He was the son of Henry and Grace. As a boy, he was a talented youngster and, whilst at Pennington Primary School he was selected in the State Schoolboy Cricket and Baseball Teams.
    His academic achievements saw him at-tending Adelaide Technical High School where he was elected Head Prefect.

    Crowe enlisted in RAAF Aircrew on 18th of July 1942 and graduated as a pilot at Deniliquin in April 1943. Crowe tragically lost his life in a training accident at the Gol Gol Range of 2OTU Mildura on 26 July 1943.
