Sgt Bernard O’ Keeffe (210054) was born in Perth WA on November 11, 1918 and enlisted in the RAAF on September 25, 1939 and after his EFTS and SFTS training was posted to 2OTU in 1944.

A day after his 26th birthday Sgt O’ Keeffe , was flying Kittyhawk A29-115 and was engaged in high altitude dive bombing exercises at the Wentworth Bombing Range when he was observed to dive vertically into the ground killing him instantly near the Wentworth Bombing Range, from 12,000 feet and reaching over 400mph.

Sgt Bernard O’ Keeffe aged 26 was buried in the Mildura War Cemetery on November 14, 1944. Biography – Mildura 2 OUT Heritage Inc
