Piggott was born on the 25th of October 1921. He was enlisted in the RAAF as Ground Staff. He remustered to Aircrew and, on graduation as a pilot, was a staff pilot at Port Pine towing drogues for trainee Air Gunners. Posted to 2OTU for operational training, Flight Sergeant Piggott was sadly killed in an accident when Kittyhawk A29-158 crashed over Mena Road, Birdwoodton on 06 October 1943.
