LAC Don Bawden (47060) was born at Pt Broughton in SA on September 18, 1914 was a Fitter/Armourer at 2OTU Mildura for several months during 1943. He was about to become engaged ta local girl but died of a heart attack while swimming in the Lock Channel with a Methodist Church Group on December 31, 1943

He was only buried in the Mildura War Cemetery on February 2, 1944 with military Honours, where both his parents attended the Funeral, Don was aged 28.
